Tom Newman

Tom grew up in a large family in the State of Idaho and has lived in the Northwestern United States throughout his life.  After a 20+ year media career, he answered a longtime calling to ministry and founded Vision Peace Ministries in Kirkland, Washington in 1998.

He served as Minister to the Vision Community for seven years, leading weekly Sunday Services, the Vision Prayer Circle, discussion groups, and numerous workshops, retreats, and interfaith gatherings.  Tom  and  the Vision Community were involved in several community outreach programs, including a monthly meal service to homeless men and women in the Seattle area.

Tom and Sophia

Tom is the father of two grown children and recently became a grandfather to Sophia Abigail.

In 2005, he returned to his home state.  He lives in the West Central Idaho mountains, leads Sunday Services in Eagle, Idaho, is caretaker of the Light in the Woods Chapel in Garden Valley, oversees the Vision Internet Ministry, writes weekly web messages and is completing work on two books. On occasion he sits on his front porch and attempts to play the banjo.
